SUMMARY:Drawing & Pastel Workshop - Oct 2023
DESCRIPTION:I will discuss the importance of drawing\, and follow that with some basic drawing exercises. Then in the afternoon transition to how drawing and pastels are used to create vibrant paintings. There will be time spent on materials\, and why I feel they are important for what can be accomplished. There will be in-studio assignments to learn from\, and challenge students on some of the methods that I use in my paintings. All of this with a fun atmosphere. \nThis one-day workshop runs from 10am until 4pm\, on Saturday\, October 14th\, 2023\, with a 1-hour lunch break. \n   \nSupply List\n \nMaterials for morning drawing class: \n\nApron\nSketchbook (Toned paper recommended\, of 9×12 in size. Strathmore is a good toned sketchbook)\nPencils (2H\, 4H\, HB\, 2B\, 4B\, 6B)\nCharcoal (hard and vine)\nBlending Stump (any size comfortable size)\nKnead eraser\nWhite Charcoal Pencil (Generals)\n\nMaterials for afternoon pastel class: \n\nSoft Pastels (Recommend a set of at least 15 Rembrandt SOFT pastels. Could be half sticks)\nBlending Stump (any size comfortable size)\nKnead eraser\nPastel Paper (Optional. DESCRIPTION:This class will be a combination of reviewing the fundamental drawing exercises and experimenting with different mediums to draw and create. Students will be encouraged to try different mediums to take their work to a new level. To think outside the box.
