DESCRIPTION:This series of classes will begin by gaining a better understanding of graphite\, charcoal\, and ink. In the first lesson\, we will work solely with graphite\, and carry out exercises to enable us to get the most from it. The second and third classes will be used likewise\, first to gain more experience with charcoal\, and then ink. The final three classes will provide opportunity to apply what we have learned in the creation of art. This Florence themed class is for you! \nThis class will have exercises to emphasize the use of the pastels and techniques\, and is great for both beginners and those that would like more guidance in their current pastel painting process. \nI will discuss materials\, show examples of my work\, do demonstrations\, and have a planned exercise to get you familiar with the materials. Students need plenty of paper so that you have opportunity to produce more than one painting. \nI hope to inspire you with my love of pastels\, which I have been painting with since I was a teenager. I have been a member of the Mid-America Pastel Society for the last 15 years. \nThis workshop takes place on Saturday\, March 30th 2024\, between 10:30am to 4:30pm. DESCRIPTION:I will discuss the importance of drawing\, and follow that with some basic drawing exercises. Then in the afternoon transition to how drawing and pastels are used to create vibrant paintings. There will be time spent on materials\, and why I feel they are important for what can be accomplished. There will be in-studio assignments to learn from\, and challenge students on some of the methods that I use in my paintings. All of this with a fun atmosphere. \nThis one-day workshop runs from 10am until 4pm\, on Saturday\, October 14th\, 2023\, with a 1-hour lunch break. \n   \nSupply List\n \nMaterials for morning drawing class: \n\nApron\nSketchbook (Toned paper recommended\, of 9×12 in size.
